New in the Store - STARBOND CA Glues and Sandpaper

We just stocked up on some of Farmer Vic's favorite sand paper and the CA glue he has used the most - all by Starbond. 

CA Glue:

Farmer Vic uses allot of colored CA glue to fill in imperfections or stabilize cracks and splits in wood. Starbond has more colors available and is a proven product. However - if Black is what you need, the Bossdog CA glue is also a very good choice! Also, keep in mind that CA accelerator from any company will work with the CA glues of any company. Starbond does claim that their accelerator dries clear and leaves less residue than others, but Vic has never had an issue with accelerators from other companies. 

Sandpaper by STARBOND

We carry the 5 inch/8 hole 50 and 25 piece sanding pad combos, they cover the needs for most jobs. The ceramic that is used cuts really well and stays sharp for a long time. We would not claim that this is the best sanding paper out there, but it is high quality and has a good price. Less expensive sandpaper we have tried often does not last very long or is overly stiff which can perform badly if you are sanding contours or use a medium or a soft sanding pad on your sander. 

Why not Mesh?

Farmer Vic used to use mesh sandpaper but has moved away from it over the years - In his opinion it doesn't cut as well, usually does not last as long as full sheets (less abrasive surface area to sand with) and for most sanders that don't have pads designed with sufficient dust collection holes to take advantage of mesh paper, it just makes the hook & loop pads fill up with wood dust and destroys the hooks over time. And, if you want to use a soft sanding pad for contours on your sander - forget mesh.

Mesh has it's place, just the kind of work that we do at FVCreations does not need the added cost for less effect. 

We just wish Starbond would make sandpaper for our Milwaukee 3 inch M12 sander - now that would be sweet!
