How much finish product do you need?

If you only have a single or maybe 2 boards, the base option of a single each of 2 oz of Oil and 2 oz of Wax is sufficient for multiple maintenance applications  - you can go a year or longer with this set, depending on your boards size and usage.

If you have more than 2 boards, or other additional wood items you want to maintain, or your boards are rather large and possibly extraordinarily dry, we suggest to either choose a larger size of the oil and wax or add a multiples to your purchase. 

What kind of Sandpaper option to choose

As far as your sanding options go - Backside Sandpaper is meant for the final touch such as hand sanding of curves, contours and shapes and to get that perfectly smooth surface in the end.

We offer 2 options - each option contains one sheet each of either 80/120/180/220 grit or 120/180/220 grit. Choose the option that includes the 80 grit if you have allot of parts of your item that an electric sander can't get to and that has some damage you want to sand out.

Heavy Sanding - Use an electric Sander first

If your boards have heavy scratches and cuts, you should first use an electric sander with appropriate grits to sand out the majority of the scratches and cuts. Then you can start using Backside Sandpaper to get the board just perfect. Backside Sandpaper lasts much longer than other sandpaper and a single pack can easily cover your finish hand sanding needs for more than one item (depending on it's size). It never hurts to order more than one though!

Note: if your boards have a previous finish on them that needs removing or you will be doing heavy sanding, they will need cleaning with a solvent before and after sanding, prior to applying the finish. In that  case choose one of the bundle Cutting Board Refinish Bundles which give you a choice of different sizes of Citrus Solvent at a lower price than buying it separately and have an option for Tung Oil
